Can A Cell Phone Truly Replace Your Home Telephone?

Nowadays, there are far more folks that are ditching their landline phones in favor of their T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.  Some do it because they generally use their cell telephone to communicate.  Others do it because it saves them money, by taking advantage of low cost plans from companies like Verizon and Sprint Cell Phones.  It may be the in thing, but it is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly.  Is having a cell telephone actually the best way of communication?  Is it an excellent idea to restrict yourself with that and lose the landline phone?

For some, it may be an excellent idea.  For others, it may be a different story.  Here are some ways that you can determine whether or not your cell telephone can replace your landline telephone, or if you continue to need both :

1.  Landline telephones will work wherever you employ them.  Even if you have got a metal roof on your place, you will still be ready to dial out.  More than likely, you won’t get a signal using a cell telephone.  Metal and cell phones do not work well together and just about each time you try to use it, you’ll get a signal interference.  You would have to depart from the house straight to get a signal.

two.  Receiving less telemarketing calls on your cell phone is a blessing.  Thanks to the FCC ( Fed. Communications Commission ), telemarketers are not permitted to leave automated messages on cell telephones without authorization from the owner of the phone.  If you decide to ditch your landline for a cell phonephone, you will not endure many cold calls to your T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T or Sprint Cell Phones.

three.  There are some areas in which your cell phonephone will not work because there’s only so much coverage.  Even in some of the major areas there are dead spots where the telephone will not get a signal.  The signals can always get blocked and you can’t always rely on getting a signal in a major urban area.

4.  If there is thunder and lightning in your area, landline phones are not the best communication devices to use.  It is extremely dangerous and folks have been finished as the landline phones are wired.  The hurricanes can hit the wire and you might be affected.  Using a cell telephone during a storm is better because there is not any direct connection between the lighting and the telephone.

Depending on your phonephone wants you have to decide whether you must just have a cell phone, a landline, or both.  You also have to take into consideration if you have a family that includes kids.  In that case, you may want to have both options.  It’s simpler to claim that you want to save money by dumping one.  However, there might be a time when you need both of them.  You have got to weigh it out and see what the best solution is.

Sony Ericsson has struggled for a long time with its mobile phones as they often remained in the shadow of Nokia. However things have changed for the better during recent times with some really interesting cellphones from Sony Ericsson. Hereunder you can find three interesting phones from Sony Ericsson that is worth buying or waiting for.

First of all we have the W995 that have been released in May 2009. Fitted with a 2.6 inch display the phone provides a rather smooth operation even if it is smaller than the average size of screen available today. However the phone makes up for its weakness in other areas. As a Walkman phone, the W995 comes with the Shake control and SensMe feature to provide a complete user experience. This place the phone as top of the range in the entertainment category. Additionally the phone comes with a 8 MP camera providing users with some really good picture quality. A must for those desperate for an entertainment phone.

Another phone that is worth considering is the Satio. The phone comes with a 3.5 inch touchscreen display which is quite responsive. The main strength of this phone is based on its 12 MP camera. The camera feature comes complete with LED and xenon flash to guarantee you some really good pictures. The Satio comes with both a 3G and Wi-FI connection that will make connecting to the internet a breeze. The negative point is the flash that really lack power sometimes- a real pity for a 12 MP camera phone.

The XPERIA X10 is a really interesting phone from Sony Ericsson that is expected to launch in early 2010. This Sony Ericsson cellphone is based on Google’s operating system, Android and attempts to build on the success of the Xperia series. In terms of features you will have a 8 MP camera and a 4 inch touchscreen display. When it comes to connectivity the phone boast a Wi-Fi connection and 3G to make sure you stay connected wherever you are. The phone will also come with a built-in GPS receiver making it a welcoming addition to any busy traveler. In my opinion this is a phone that is worth waiting.

So, if you want to get that cellular telephone that everybody’s been looking at, but you are subscribed to a carriers plan, then hard luck.  Oh wait, not particularly, since you can buy that cell telephone unlocked, allowing you to use it on your present plan.  That will make your day better because :

One.  You may have extra cash in your pocket.  Yes, further cash for you.  You will not be stuck to who can say what dear plan.  You’ll have your new unlocked cellular telephone working on your present cell plan. The one that is great with a great price.

Two.You will turn heads from people in the street.  That’s a stylish way to claim that you will be admired for your surprising unlocked GSM cell telephone.  Only nobody will know it’s unlocked, and they will presume you have got what’s needed to pay the plan it’s publicized to come with.Girls will dig you!  Don’t fret girls, blokes will dig you too!

three.  Your dog will like you more.  It feels like a stretch, but it is essentially not.  More cash in your pocket means extra cash for the tiny guy.  Dog toys, food, you say it.  Before you know it, you’ll have a more fit, happier, fatter animal.  Which will simply like you.

4.  You’ll be overjoyed.A fact it is.  When we buy what we actually need, we are satisfied.  And since you were given your cell telephone unlocked, you are even happier.  Not only did you purchase the device you have always hankered after, but you have also beaten the system.  Now that’s something that should be proud of!

five.  You’ll be a hero for your mates.  Wait till they hear the story of your brave attainments.  How you went and acquired a cell phonephone that you could not use.  How then, with only your wit and extremely powerful private charm, you went ahead and acquired it unlocked.  How smart of you that you can now use it on your present plan and talk on it for while you wish, depending on your present plan.  They’re going to be awed.  They can worship you ( for a minimum of for a day or two ).

Getting an unlocked GSM cell telephone is awfully easy since many ecommerce stores sell it that way.  At the end of the day, you get left with an unlocked cellular telephone and a definite sense of achievement.

When Your Child Asks for a Cellphone

Nowadays, it’s not only adults that are focused on having the latest cellular phones; complete with the most advanced technology; coolest features and all the available applications that can be crammed into one small mobile communications gadget.

Kids too, have become hooked, for lack of a better term, to cellphones. They see their moms and dads clutching the coolest phone known to man and they want to have the same too; not only for its various applications but more so to show-off to their friends. It conveys some kind of statement for kids when they have the same stylish gadgets like everybody else.

SHOULD YOU ALLOW YOUR CHILD {TO OWN} A CELLPHONE?

What happens then when your child start to ask for one? Should you just concede without a second thought? There’s no question that young kids should really not be allowed to own a cellphone just yet. But for the older kids, it wholly depends on the parents’ judgment.

Cellphones are essential for communication and if you are out of the house most of the time and your children happen to be out too; with their friends or some school function; getting in touch with them whenever both parents and children are apart is important. Cellular phones will definitely make this simpler for everyone.

In addition, cell phones can be very useful also to children in times of emergencies.

TEACHING KIDS TO BE RESPONSIBLE

One way to turn this cellphone ownership subject into something positive is training children how to be responsible cellphone owners. Setting parameters as to their usage is a key element when considering giving kids their own cellphones. While listening to music and taking pictures may be some of the things that children want to be able to do with their phones; permitting them to surf the internet or chat without parental guidance should be something parents need to think twice about.

In this case, giving them a cellphone with only the bare necessities could be the answer. Likewise, giving these cellphones as rewards for doing well in school will teach children that they have to show good behavior in order to be permitted to have their own cellphones.

Lastly, one way to likewise show them about responsibility is training them to put aside allowance so they can buy their own prepaid loads; or both parents and kids can split the cost of the phone. There are many ways for parents to get something constructive from these tools.

Cellular phones have evolved from mere tools where you can place a phone call to anyone even while in transit or you’re far from home. These days, they have become sophisticated communications tools that enable the user to make a mobile call, send emails, chat via IM and surf the internet.

Sadly, urbane and technologically-enhanced it may be; there is still no fool-proof way to maintain its mint condition for long; much less have it running as smoothly as if it were new, for many years. There are various elements that can render any cellphone useless and worthless; not least of these is the common problem that often sneaks up on PCs – viruses.

In fact, the more sophisticated your cell phone, the more open it is to virus attacks if you’re not careful. Having said this, it’s so much the wiser to have your cellular phone protected right away. Luckily, there are already virus protection programs that are well-matched with cellphones so you should really check these out and have one installed before turning on your Bluetooth or browsing.
